The Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden (SKD) wins the Apollo Award 2024 in the ‘Digital Innovation of the Year’ category for the project ‘The Royal Dresden Porcelain Collection’. The latest award for this flagship project underlines the innovative concept and the new standards it has set.
‘The Royal Dresden Porcelain Collection’ presents the results of a ten-year research project by the Dresden Porcelain Collection on the Chinese and Japanese porcelains of Augustus the Strong in a modern form. The Daphne team developed the digital platform for the SKD together with the Berlin-based company TBO Interactive, which was presented to the public at the beginning of 2024. In May of this year, ‘The Royal Dresden Porcelain Collection’ was honoured with the DigAMus Award, once again underlining that the digital transformation offers many opportunities for museums and collections to present their offerings and research findings to a wide audience. With its open access offering, the project shows in an exemplary way how this can be achieved.
