Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden

The Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden (SKD) are among the most eminent museums in the world. A total of 15 museums and four institutions offer a unique variety of themes and objects. Historical sources date the foundation of the Kunstkammer in the Residenzschloss by Elector August to 1560. August the Strong was a notable connoisseur of arts.
