The DIGAMUS Award has been honouring the best digital projects from museums since 2020. This year, our long-standing client, the Dresden State Art Collections, won the audience award in the website or online exhibition category with its new digital platform ‘The Royal Porcelain Collection’.
The innovative digital platform presents the results of a ten-year international research project by the Dresden Porcelain Collection on the Chinese and Japanese porcelains of Augustus the Strong in a sophisticated digital form. What is fundamentally new about this digital catalogue of the collection is the networking of the content, which can be accessed by users both exploratively and in different contextualisations. The basic metadata and the media of the objects are replicated cyclically from robotron*Daphne to the website. Using the module for scientific projects, the object data was enriched with additional special fields.
